We were hoping for a nice, sunny, spring day today but, alas, winter is still amongst us.
Our beautiful hickory hardwood flooring came in on Thursday and our team picked it up this morning from Main Street Tile and Stone, in Sylvania, in four pickup truck loads. Rich Restivo, Greg Durbin and Dave Graven braved the inclement weather, driving on treacherous, slippery roads hauled 132 boxes of our new flooring to a waiting group of willing hands to unload their precious cargo.
One hundred and thirty-two boxes; four tons, over two thousand square feet of beautiful pre-finished, solid hickory flooring, half of which had to go upstairs to the public smoking lounge. The younger members of the team rose to the occasion and humped that flooring up two flights of stairs to its final resting place.
Randy Tucker, Zack Szabo, Scot Morehouse, Rich Jessup, Kristyn Tustin (Zack's main squeeze and budding film star of Randy Tucker Productions) and Mac Henry, John Henry's nephew -- a brute of young man I might add, are going to be sore tomorrow.
After a lunch of one of our favorite cigars and a cup of coffee (I used to call that a fighter pilot's breakfast) we adjourned to the private club to finish the demo started earlier this week.
Led by "Dynamo Dave" Graven everyone pitched in to complete what was left of the task in about an hour and a half. The partition wall went, the bathroom went, the suspended ceiling went, the flooring, old wiring, heating ducting, et al, into the dumpster.
As an aside, an executive decision has been made. The previous toilet in the previous bathroom in the private smoking lounge will be replaced with a state-of-the-art urinal.
I know you wanted to know that....
