Michigan Hickory Forest |
We closed on our property at 20 N Third Street, Waterville, Ohio this afternoon and we have secured insurance. We ordered and paid for the hardwood flooring for both the public and the private lounges this afternoon -- over two thousand square feet. The flooring will be delivered to our local supplier by week's end.
As an aside, our solid hickory flooring is coming out of the vast Michigan hardwood forests, harvested only after the sap ceases to flow, air-dried, milled and finished by a Michigan company, our neighbors to our North. We will endeavor in all things, except cigars, to buy American products.
Our vendor's and tobacco licenses were both issued today as well. We will be ordering our first cigar shipments to arrive shortly after our humidor is installed.

Our "de-modeling" project will begin in the morning with gracious volunteers and their claw hammers and crow bars... We should have all of that taken care of by the end of the week and will be able to start the remodeling next week.
Thank you all for your patience; that light at the end of the tunnel is a burning cigar -- in our own place.
