Close to Completion...

The writer of this blog (yours truly) has been on a wonderful fishing trip with my brothers to the mountain streams and lakes of the Eastern Sierras, just east of Yosemite National Park and, although the trout were plentiful, the blog has suffered.

Back now, and needing a rest from my two-mile-high fishing vacation, it's time to update the Third Street Cigar blog.

It's amazing how much got done in my absence (or, maybe, because of it) and only goes to show that this project of ours is a group effort with one goal in mind -- to create the finest cigar shop and lounge in the Midwest, bar none.

John Henry's original blues, jazz and rock and roll artist photo collection is complete and the work was hung for display this weekend.

The state-of-the-art humidor is stocked with the finest premium cigars available and we have more in the pipeline.

Our humidifiers are keeping the stock at a perfect 70% humidity in both the retail and the storage humidors.  We keep track of both the temperature and the humidity using a software / hardware package that samples the two parameters continuously and records that data every two seconds to a data base that warns us if one of the parameters exceeds certain preselected limits.

Except for a couple of minor items, Big Jack's Lounge in the loft is complete.

The memorial to Big Jack Reynolds is taking shape and we have his ashes in a beautiful urn befitting the fine old musician.  We still have to place his guitars and harmonicas on the landing, but when that is complete we think Big Jack will be pleased with his final resting place.

The photo art collections there were hung this weekend also and the results are spectacular.

The selection of our sales team has been finalized with Dave Graven assuming the role of General Manager.  Dave has appointed a team of knowledgeable, professional and customer-oriented sales personnel whose only goal is to please our customers.

We have changed our hours slightly to accommodate the needs of our customers.  We will still be open from 10:00AM - 10:00PM Mondays - Thursdays and Sundays, but have extended our hours on Fridays and Saturdays to close at Midnight.
